We are excited to announce that we are starting a new research study for patients with knee pain from osteoarthritis of the knee. This is a clinic based study that involves one injection to the painful knee.
The product being studied is from the category of regenerative medicine and is made from human placental tissue.
This study is open to patients between 18 and 80 years of age with mild to moderate arthritis of the knee.
The placental product is administered through a one-time knee injection and patients will be followed in the study for one year.
Additionally, if you join the study, you do not need to have health insurance as all study procedures are provided at no charge.
If you are interested in learning more about the study, please call 941-552-7875 (research office).
What is plantar fasciitis? Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the plantar fascia in the foot which results in heel pain that is normally strongest with the first few steps or is pain that gets worse with increased activity.
Dr. Edward Stolarski is the principal investigator (research and medical oversight) for a regenerative medicine research trial for plantar fasciitis pain. This study is taking place at Kennedy-White Orthopaedic Center (KWOC) in our research department.
Eligible subjects will receive a heel injection in the affect foot by
Dr. Patrick O’Neill, the only board certified fellowship-trained foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon in Sarasota County.
This study is open to patients between 21 and 79 years of age with plantar fasciitis pain in one foot. To be eligible for this study, you do not need to already be a patient of KWOC.

Each week we work on connecting with new pharmaceutical and medical device companies to see if they have a study we believe would be of interest to our patients.
If you are wondering if we are looking into a study for a condition you are dealing with, please give us a call at (941) 552-7875 to discuss and be added to the waiting list for our next trials.
Current areas of focus are non-operative solutions for hip, knee, and shoulder arthritis, vaccines, regenerative medicine, and surgery adjuncts.
Additionally, if you are preparing for a knee, hip, or spine surgery with our team at Kennedy-White Orthopaedic Center, we invite you to ask us about possible programs that you may be a candidate for.
Please note that our research trials are offered at no charge to patients and are nationwide study protocols for new drugs, biologics, and medical devices that are being researched with the goal of receiving FDA approval.
Research study participation begins with a pre-screening to see if you would be an appropriate candidate. This is followed up by an educational screening visit.
At a screening visit you'll have the opportunity to read the informed consent form for the trial and speak directly with our clinicians and study coordinator team about the specifics of the study.
We invite you to contact us to learn more!
